Community Guidelines

Welcome to the room

Nyctof is a private room we host together. Every member was invited in by approval, and every member is a guest of everyone else. These guidelines describe how good guests behave, so the night stays safe, easy and worth coming back to.

Who belongs here:

• Approved members only, one account per person.
• You must be of legal drinking age where you are using Nyctof: 19+ in Ontario, 18+ in Quebec, and so on.
• You, as you are. Your own name and your own photos.

Respect and consent

• No means no, and silence means no. An unanswered message, a declined request or a closed evening is an answer. Don't push, repeat or work around it.
• Invitations, not obligations. An open evening welcomes requests to join; the group decides, and a decline is final for the night.
• No harassment of any kind: unwanted advances, sexual comments, intimidation, threats, stalking, or following someone from venue to venue.
• No hate. Nothing that attacks people for who they are: race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or origin.
• Keep contact where it was welcomed. If someone stops replying or blocks you, don't reach them through friends, groups or other apps.
• No unsolicited sexual content. Keep profiles free of nudity and explicit content, and never send sexual messages or images to anyone who hasn't clearly welcomed them.

Honest profiles

• Your real name or the name you go by, and recent photos of you alone or clearly identifiable.
• No impersonation, no fake accounts, no photos of anyone under 18.
• What you share about yourself is yours to show or hide. Never pressure anyone to reveal what they keep private.

What happens in Nyctof stays in Nyctof

Members trust each other with where they are and who they are. Honour that.

• Never share another member's whereabouts. Where someone is, or plans to be, is theirs to share. Don't post it, forward it, or tell someone who isn't meant to know.
• No screenshots or recordings of profiles, messages or presence shared outside Nyctof.
• Respect every privacy choice. Ghost mode, hidden plans, Friends-only evenings and private profile fields are deliberate. Don't try to work around them, and don't ask others to.
• Group chats are shared spaces, not public ones. What's said there isn't for reposting.

At the venue

• Respect staff, security, dress codes and door decisions. Nyctof helps you plan the night; it never guarantees entry.
• Treat each venue as a host. The way members behave shapes how every venue welcomes Nyctof.

Drinking and substances

• Drink responsibly and never pressure anyone to drink.
• No buying, selling or promoting drugs, and nothing that encourages anyone under the legal age to drink.
• Never tamper with anyone's drink. Spiking or tampering with a drink ends a membership immediately and may be reported to police.

Not a marketplace

• No spam, sales, paid promotion, or recruiting for other businesses, events or promoters without Nyctof's permission.
• No bots, automation, or collecting other members' information.

Blocking and reporting

• Block anyone, anytime, no reason needed. You'll disappear from each other's profiles, map, Who's Here, Community and direct messages, and they are not notified. In group chats you both belong to, messages still appear, without profiles. You can unblock later from Settings; a new friend request is then needed.
• Report a person or a specific message when something crosses a line. Reports are confidential: we never tell the person who reported them unless the law requires it, and a real person on the Nyctof team reviews every one.
• Report and block in one step when you'd rather not see someone again.
• Only the message you report is shared with the team, never your whole conversation.
• Reporting in bad faith, to harass someone, is itself a violation.
